Riesling - Another of My Favorite Things

As a wine lover, I make it a point to sample at least two new varieties each month; one red, one white. To be clear, I am not an expert on the subject, but through the years I’ve tasted quite a few and I know what I like.
I’ve tried several wines of various prices and types, including Merlot, Bordeaux, Zinfandel, Chianti, Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Vouvray, various blends, and so on. Some I’ve enjoyed more than others, but when it’s all said and done, I do have my all-time favorites. While Riesling takes first place in the white category, my red of choice is a low-tannin, fruit-forward Merlot, preferably Napa Valley.
