A Delicious Encounter Of the Fruity Skin Care Kind
May 21st, 2008

On my way home from the office today I stopped by TJ Maxx to return a few items and decided to browse a bit before leaving. Boy am I glad I did! Completely by accident I stumbled upon these body products by Asquith & Somerset. The first thing that drew me to them was the packaging, then the scents and finally the prices. I figured why not give them a try, so I threw a couple of soaps and scrubs into my cart. On the drive home, something told me I had lucked up on a really good deal. Once I got home and did a little research, I realised my instinct was spot on. Not realising at the time what a great deal I had, I only purchased four items; two body scrubs and two soaps.

I am really, really big on aromatherapy and equally fond of lush body products, particularly tropical fruit scents. These Asquith & Somerset products are both at once. The fragrances of both the scrubs and the soaps are absolutely fabulous and more intense than any products I’ve ever experienced; so much so that they literally smell good enough to eat. I kid you not! I strongly advise keeping them (especially the sugar scrubs) away from small children and anyone who cannot read English, as their aromas are nothing short of mouthwatering and the scrubs could easily be mistaken for an exotic fruit dessert.

I visited their official website and discovered that this England-based company has an extensive product line, including body creams, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, facial, pedicure and a host of other products. They even make room sprays. Oddly though, I didn’t find any prices on their site nor any way to place an order. So I Googled them, of course, and found several places, including this site, that carry their line.

After browsing a few sites, I quickly understood that I had struck gold. The two 17-oz. jars of exfoliating sugar scrubs I purchased (Coconut Sweet Lime and Cilantro Pineapple) at TJM for $6 each, actually retail for between $14 and $16, and the two 12-oz bars of moisturising soap (Mango & Lime and Coconut & Banana) that I purchased for $4 each are actually $10 to $13 each. And that’s not including possible shipping charges, which I have seen as high as $9.25. That said, I will be back there tomorrow to look for their lotions, body creams and anything else I can find.
These products have most cerainly ascended the ranks and found their place amongst the special items I’ve deemed my favourite things. Mos def!
